Real Madrid's winger Issues Sincere Sorry to Real Madrid Fans

The attacker has scored five goals in ten Spanish league appearances during the current campaign.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to fans for his reaction when taken off in Sunday's fiery Clasico clash triumph.

Vinicius was replaced in the 72nd minute and showed his frustration by heading directly off the pitch.

The Brazilian eventually reappeared to the sidelines and, after his club's 2-1 win, tried to confront the opposition's opposing player during contentious final whistle exchanges.

"Now I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my response when I was replaced in the derby," the player shared on his account.

"In the same way as I have already done during the latest training, I wish to apologise again to my colleagues, the team, and the club president.

"Occasionally passion gets the better of me because I constantly desire to triumph and assist my club. My winning mentality originates in the affection I have for this institution and everything it represents."

Vinicius signed for Madrid from Flamengo in recent years for £38.7m and has scored triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his prospects in the La Liga is uncertain with reports in recent months stating that Real would consider letting the 25-year-old depart if they were to receive a good proposal.

When the winger was replaced on Sunday, TV coverage from network the platform captured him saying: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's preferable if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his new statement on X, Vinicius stated: "I promise to keep striving at all times for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have performed since the very beginning."
